Our Annual Procession

Save for the procession conducted by the Saman Devale of Sabaragamu province, the Annual procession organized by Sankapala Temple is the oldest and the biggest and the loftiest. This procession was supposed to have systematically developed by Ven. Atthudawe Gunarathana, Atthudawe Chandrasena and Ven. Miriswalpota Rathnasiri the Chief incumbents of Sankapala temple. It is believed that Conducting this annual event will bring prosperity and blessing especially to the farmers in the area.
